NEW FOR 2021-22 – CONTACTLESS CATERING IN OUR LARGEST CHALETS
Our chalet hosts are ready and waiting to look after you in the same way that we always have but we understand that not everyone wants to share their holiday space with members of our team at this time. We can therefore now offer sole occupancy rates to include delicious meals delivered to your door.
The chalets will be made up ready for you, we can still organise all of your holiday extras and our team are still available in resort if you need anything, but this new system gives you breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals in total privacy and you can eat at a time of your choosing! The menus are set but can be adapted to suit various dietary needs and this option will mirror the HS Fusion upgrade offered in our self-catered properties.
Winter 2020/21 should have been coming to an end this week and, having now missed out on glorious spring skiing two years in a row, we are as keen as everyone else to get back to normal. Despite our best efforts it became clear late last year that we were not going to get a winter season at all and our thoughts very quickly turned to all of the things that we could do to make the most of the forced break. In the 16 years that we have been in business our industry has changed hugely and the ongoing change is being further accelerated by Brexit and the pandemic. We have tried to use our time wisely to refocus as we look ahead to next year, and the new logo that is revealed today is just the first part of that!
The new clean and contemporary logo is part of a bigger project that will ultimately yield a brand new website, new quotation and booking systems and the digitalisation of a lot of our guest information and staff training material. Some of the changes are of course in the background but in the coming weeks you will see this website replaced by a new one that is more suitable for the 21st Century, featuring new products and a real time booking system. We would not have embarked on this forward-thinking project without the support of the Welsh Government and their award of an Economic Resilience Fund grant. As a direct result of this grant-funded project we have boosted skills, retained expertise, and are well on the way to improving competitiveness and future-proofing our digital resources. Watch this space and our social feeds for regular updates and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible when we return to the slopes in December.
When Covid-19 forced the shutdown of ski resorts across Europe in March last year we were suddenly all in uncharted waters. Questions remain surrounding the suitability of the travel insurance industry to cope with such events but as we look ahead to 2021/22 we can appreciate that people will be even more wary of the need to safeguard their hard-earned cash. As in previous years we are protecting all guests against our insolvency through our financial failure insurance, but we have also launched our Covid-19 Peace of Mind Pledge that will apply to all bookings made directly with Host Savoie for the foreseeable future.
Covid-19 is a known problem and can no longer classed as an act of Force Majeure. Section 23 of our booking conditions details the new specific provisions for cancellations resulting from Covid-19. Please see our booking conditions document for full details, but in a nutshell we are offering flexibility in balance payment dates and a choice of a 100% credit note or a refund minus a small admin fee if any of the specified circumstances apply (ranging from border closures to mandatory
quarantine periods and changes to travel advice). We hope that this new pledge gives guests the confidence to get some dates in the diary as we edge towards what we have all been missing – the unique and unbeatable enjoyment of a winter sports holiday.
