Chez Claude has been on our books since 2008 and now plays host to self-catered groups all year round as well as the budget solo traveller catered holidays under the brand of The Ski Gathering for up to 6 weeks each winter.
We love having Chez Claude in our portfolio and the flexible nature of this well-located value for money chalet makes it as popular today as it was when we first took it on. The property sleeps up to 13 people in 5 bedrooms, making it ideal for large groups of friends or several families travelling together. On our Ski Gathering Budget Holidays numbers are capped at 10 in order to ensure that everyone has sufficient personal space.

Chalet Chez Claude | Description

Chez Claude is ideally located near a free ski bus stop but also a flat walk from the centre of the resort, with bars, supermarkets, and restaurants all within easy reach. From its position high above the street, you will benefit from peace and quiet and spectacular views to the peaks of Ressachaux and Nantaux.

As we strive to offer total flexibility in our next generation chalet holidays the space will always be your own and your privacy respected. If you want to come and go without seeing us, that's fine! On the other hand you may prefer morning bakery deliveries, or perhaps even our flexi-catered upgrade with afternoon tea and evening meals to the door. For a real treat why not consider our Chef at Home option for a restaurant experience in the comfort of your own alpine retreat? Let us create your ideal holiday.

This traditional residence has been in the Baud family for generations and we love the cosy atmosphere that is sometimes lacking in a new build. The chalet benefits from South and East facing balconies as well as panoramic windows, making it easy to enjoy a glass of wine whilst you take in the vista or watch the snow fall. There is also a small sauna where you can relax those aching muscles after a busy day on the hill.

The digital coded entrance to the chalet is at street level, and upon entering you will find the ski room, which has a washing machine and heated racks to ensure you are not pushing cold toes into stiff boots every morning. The rest of the accommodation is upstairs and away from any street noise. Up on the first floor you will find the cosy living/dining area, where you can relax in comfy chairs and sofa in front of the beautiful log burning stove, or if you prefer you can head upstairs to the mezzanine to watch a movie on the flat-screen TV or catch up on your favourite shows. There are two dining tables that between them can seat all guests comfortably.

Two twin ensuite rooms are located on the same level as the living room, as well as the nicely equipped separate kitchen (ideal for everything from reheating our delicious flexi catered deliveries to a space for aspiring chefs to wow their fellow guests!). If you are staying with us on our catered solo weeks (The Ski Gathering) the kitchen will be the domain of an experienced local chef and your holiday will include a diverse breakfast, afternoon tea and hearty 2 course evening meals with wine on 5 nights.

On the top floor under the eaves there are 3 further bedrooms - a quad and a triple (both with ensuite facilities) and a small twin room without bathroom. This has access to the bathroom and WC on the floor below (next to the sauna). Fast fibre broadband can be found in all bedrooms as well as the common areas.

Chalet Chez Claude | Description - Location

At a nice distance from the centre of town Chez Claude is both convenient and peaceful. It is a 10 - 12 minute flat walk to the town centre but in that time you will pass a supermarket as well as several bars and restaurants. The nearest cable car is Super Morzine and that is located around 950m away, giving access to Avoriaz. The local Pleney slopes and ski school meeting points are on the other side of the pedestrianised town square and the two cable cars are linked by a road train.

With winter sports gear you will most likely prefer to catch the bus and both lines P and U run regularly past the chalet with a stop just 50m away. Either of these will take you to Super Morzine in just a couple of minutes or Pleney in 5 minutes. Getting home from apres ski is simple enough too with Line U running until 1930. There is ample off-street parking available for anyone bringing their own car and a large free public car park across the road.

Chalet Chez Claude | Catered Weeks with The Ski Gathering

If you have booked on to one of our budget solo traveller holidays with The Ski Gathering we are pleased to offer great value catered weeks in conjunction with a great local chef. Whilst the offering is a little simpler than at Chalet Chery des Meuniers we have received great feedback in recent years, with many guests commenting that it is like the chalet holiday used to be (before the days of champagne and canapes!). Good value doesn't equate to a drop in quality though and you can still expect a filling buffet breakfast, homemade cakes and a filling 2 course evening meal (main and dessert) made from scratch with fresh local produce. Dinner is served 5 nights a week and it is of course accompanied by red or white wine! As well as our chef you will also see our in-resort representative from time to time and they will be on hand to help with anything you may need from a change of boots to a restaurant booking or a last-minute ski lesson!
