Chalet Clovis | Description

This beautiful little chalet sleeping up to 9 is just a stone's throw from the cable car to Avoriaz and is a long-standing favourite with regular visitors. Chalet Clovis and can now be booked on a classic self-catered basis or with any of our catering upgrades to create the perfect stay.

Enjoy the privacy of your own reasonably priced and well located chalet, but with the convenience of quality meals being delivered to the door! By teaming up with the best bakery in town and a great local catering firm, we are able to provide breakfast, homemade afternoon cakes and delicious filling 2 course evening meals. If you prefer a private chef to cater for you, we can do that too as we strive to offer the most flexible range of options yet in our next generation of chalet holidays!

Chalet Clovis sits in a spectacular spot at an altitude of 1200m and a 5 minute drive (2.5km) from Morzine at the head of the Vallee des Ardoisieres. Just beyond the chalet the road runs out and the only way is up! The snowsure resort of Avoriaz is perched on top of the cliffs and can be reached quickly via the new jumbo gondola constructed in the summer of 2012. From Avoriaz a blue piste with reliable snow cover runs all the way back down to Les Prodains and more experienced skiers will be able to leave the piste to ski across the snowy field to the terrace of the chalet.

Once inside you will find that Clovis has been decorated in keeping with a winter wonderland, and yet the chalet benefits from creature comforts such as underfloor heating, Wi-Fi internet and a full size table tennis table! The jewel in the crown is the 'Carnotzet' - a basement room that is traditional in Swiss homes and can only be described today as a 'chill out' area. In the past such a room would have been the domain of the men folk to drink, sing and play games after dinner, but nowadays it is accessible to anyone wishing to relax in a comfortable seat whilst making use of the big-screen TV/DVD cinema system! There is also an extra shower and WC here for your convenience.

The bedrooms are nicely split with one on each level and on the middle floor there is a charming open-plan kitchen / dining space. On this same level a beautiful big terrace and snowfield can be accessed - ideal for relaxing with a cold beer or for sledging and building snowmen as the sun goes down! From here the views are spectacular and previous visitors have enjoyed watching the lights of the piste bashers in Morzine or the menacing clouds that appear to stick to the jagged peaks of the Hauts Forts that tower over the valley. If you have the energy after skiing all day it is easy enough to enjoy some apres ski around the base of the cable car in Prodains. Alternatively, with the cable car open until midnight on some nights you could always head back up to Avoriaz!
